General Hiatus and Drop Options

Get Membraned Idiot
unaffiliated follower demigod
Your character is enveloped by the membrane. They will be overtaken physically and mentally by an amalgamation that wishes to subsume them. During the time they're gone, they become "them." Until someone, or something, disentangles them from "them," they will see the dreams of many minds at once, all made into one. When they emerge from the membrane, they will only remember fragments of worlds and people before them, and they will feel as if they have been made unwhole. How long it takes them to recover from this state is up to player discretion.

Lost in the Fog
unaffiliated follower demigod
Your character wanders too far into the outskirts of the city, or perhaps even attempts to leave the city, and ends up wandering lost in the red fog. While wandering, they will lose all sense of time, space, and bodily needs as their senses are filled with visions of their greatest desires and deepest fears. Upon finding their way out of the fog, they will end up inside the city once again, now with a heightened desire to inflict cruelty upon others. This state will last until they physically or emotionally harm another.

Spirited Away
unaffiliated follower demigod
One of the gods calls your character into their domain. It's unclear exactly why this happens, or what happens while they are spirited away, as the character in question won't quite remember what happened to them. Only that they offended the gods in some way, and that they may have lost something important, though they won't remember exactly what. They might feel the need to gather ever more discord in an attempt to regain what it is that they lost.

Shrinebound
• Captive (pvp option)
unaffiliated follower demigod
Demigods may overpower and lock pawns or other demigods in their shrines for however long they wish. While that demigod may visit their captive in the shrine, this may also be used as a hiatus or tempdrop if you want to say that the captive is completely cut off from others. They may be released whenever their captor chooses to release them, or when their captor dies.

• On purpose
unaffiliated follower demigod
Demigods can always shut themselves away in their shrines for extended periods of time. While inside of their shrine, the demigod will have no need for food and sleep, and time won't have any meaning. The shrine will simply open again whenever the demigod wishes to leave.

• Accidental
unaffiliated follower demigod
A demigod locks themselves inside their own shrine accidentally. How, you might ask? Well. This is typically a case of the demigod's heart wavering and their shrine becoming unstable. In which case, the shrine will open again when the demigod Gets Good (in other words: therapize themselves in isolation to get out of the baby cage).

Autopilot
unaffiliated follower demigod
Your character is assumed to still be around in the tower, going about their business. Maybe they're locked up in their room being sad. Maybe they're off exploring the city. Whatever works for you.

Permanent Drops

Become a Husk
unaffiliated follower demigod
Your character fails to maintain themselves through generating discord, and their spirit and life are drained to the point where they become a husk. They no longer have a will or discernible personality of their own. They are essentially a shambling corpse, driven only by spite for the living.

Die
unaffiliated follower demigod
Just die. This could technically be temporary if another character preserves your character's body and eventually brings them back. But otherwise, death is death. While there are a multitude of ways for player characters to avoid or reverse death in this game through their own power, there is no innate mechanic that will bring a character back to life without player character intervention.

Good Ends

Get Good
unaffiliated follower demigod
Accumulate enough power as a demigod to leave. For a character with no canon powers, this would require eating godflesh five more times after becoming a demigod to acquire and upgrade a demigod power specializing in some sort of teleportation, space distortion, dimension-crossing, or somesuch power of your own design. At "level 100/100" a power along these lines will enable the character to travel to and fro between Paraprima and their own homeworld. If they upgrade the power again, at "level 120/100" they can travel freely to other worlds as well besides the two, and can also use this power on other characters besides themselves. If they have canon powers related to dimension-hopping or so on, they can potentially use their godflesh upgrades on those, and require fewer upgrades to get to a "good end" point. For all cases, they may return to visit at will even after good ending.

Send Off
unaffiliated follower demigod
A demigod who has accumulated enough power uses that power to send you home. Demigods are motivated not to do this to too many pawns, because they need pawns around for their higher discord generation, but there's nothing stopping them from doing it if they want. Since a character good ending through this method presumably doesn't have the power to dimension-hop for themselves, they most likely can't travel back and forth and freely visit, and so will presumably stay in whatever world they good end to thereafter. (Possibly whoever good ended you could come pick you up and bring you along for a duo visit?)

Other
If you have an idea for a different form of good end that your character would angle for, please contact us about it (paraprima.mods@gmail.com, or the mod-questions channel on the discord server, or our FAQ) and we can workshop it at that time.
